Prescott's Artists in Residence, Amanda and Tia, are excited to share that for the next couple of months Prescott School has an additional artist "on campus" named Mark Menjivar. Amanda and Tia invited him to work with us on a project about migratory birds. 4th grade, 8th grade, and High School students are making drawings of birds that will be printed as large signs to teach our school about birds that migrate throughout the region. The project is called La Misma Canción / The Same Song. Throughout February, the artists have been teaching scientific drawing workshops and so far they’ve been a huge hit!

By proclamation of the governor, January is School Board Recognition Month. It’s a great time to recognize our elected community members who selflessly give their time and energy in support of high-quality public schooling for our youth. As a crucial bridge between the local community and the school district, their efforts are instrumental in helping all of us realize the hopes and dreams we have for the children of our community.
